We Review: Pick Me Up London 2014
Last week we traveled down to Somerset House to check out the latest graphic design and illustration talents as part of London's leading contemporary graphic art festival Pick Me Up. Having exhibited ourselves last year, we were keen to see what was on offer for 2014 and were mightily impressed with what we saw. In fact we liked it so much that we want to go back this weekend and buy the lot! Highlights included jars of eyeballs from Skull Paradise, Malarky's mantlepiece dog ornaments for Beach London and Home Slice's fish and chip china at Niki Best Home. We probably spend the most amount of time downstairs at Pick Me Up Selects featuring the rising stars of international graphic arts with our favourites works including multi-coloured car paintings by Annu Kilpeläinen, muscley men carved by Kyle Platts and a Cat Island wall by Jessica Das. If you want to go and see all of this and a whole lot more then head to Somerset House this bank holiday weekend as Pick Me Up is open to public until Monday 5th May. Doors are open from 10:00am-18:00pm daily with a late night opening until 22:00 this Friday. To book tickets and find out more details about the event and artists exhibiting, visit the website here.Â
