We wanted to give you a behind the scenes look at our inspiration and design journey creating this collection…
At Oaf we are constantly referencing 90s films, our favourite TV shows and our go-to snacks, and this collection was the perfect outlet. With the notion of dreaming big & seeing your name in lights, we’ve used soft focus pastels and bold polka dots to nod to the theatre spotlight. Our mood board featured patterned cinema floors, iconic movie moments, bell boy uniforms and plush theatre décor and snippets of these come through in pieces throughout the range.
We referenced a plethora of nostalgic media, working with Andrew Jeffrey Wright who’s Toad vs Stomp graphic took us back to the days when ‘pick your fighter’ meant everything, and Steve Gavan’s fruit machine characters including a lucky number 7 reminding us it’s always good to take a chance.
