Drawing Club Launch Party 2011

Drawing Club Launch Party 2011
On Friday we packed up our studio and carted it 2 miles down the road for our weekend pop-up shop on Hanbury Street which launched with our Drawing Club II Collection party. Following the theme of Geometricity, we transformed a wall into a our own paper toy town, thanks to a mighty selection of colourful sheets by G F Smith. Shevone and Steffy were quick to share their love for the wall. The event celebrated the launch of our limited edition Drawing Club T-shirt collection which took pride of place hanging on the front wall. First to make her mark on the wall of plenty was illustrating talent Suzi Kemp who created her own house, it involved a cat and a witch. Drawing Club contributor Tom Edwards was quick to follow suit, using black Posca pens to design N00b Hall. Alongside the drawing, we sold a selection of our stationery, knitwear and accessories displayed in our beloved box shelf. This drawing devotee designed a scene straight from a Godzilla film. Tom Edwards turned a lot of the cars into dogs, which instantly reminded us of Dumb and Dumber's Mutt Cutt's car. One lady filled part of the wall with her own landscape of cartoons, our favourites are the bikini clad banana and winking unicorn. Crocodile creator Marcus Oakley got snapped with his drawing club contribution. We treated all visitors and drawers to a tasty selection of Rekorderlig Cider, favourite flavours were the Strawberry and Lime and Winter cider, which basically tasted like Christmas. Mmm hmm. Shoppers were quick to get involved in the massive selection of bargains that were on offer. The night also saw the official launch of our brand new carrier bag. This is our first EVER paper bag so it's a pretty big deal. These glossy girls gave us major fringe envy and the lady on the right looked loverly in her Bones Crop T-shirt and Toothy Tote Bag. We loved how our friend Alec had layered up his Fisherman's Zip Sweatshirt. This happy shopper looked hot in the Burger Hat teamed with amazing skeleton leggings. We're always on the look out for great nail art and this girls Lazy Oaf inspired nails stole the show! WIWT competition winners Maria and Claudia came along to collect their prizes, take photos and pick up some bargains. Claudia looked cute in her Big Cat Dress and Maria wore her Minnie Creepers (sold out). We were totally wowed by Claudia's winged Jeremy Scott x Adidas sneakers. Andy tried on our Anorak for size, looking smooth. In less than 3 hours you all managed to transform the wall into a masterpiece of magic. Good work guys. The rest of the photos will be uploaded onto our Facebook fan page shortly! Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved, and to all who picked up a present or two at our Xmas Xtravaganza at the weekend.
