Don't play with your food...
It's no secret that here at Lazy Oaf we love our food, so much so that it has inspired some of our favourite designs, like the Burger Sweatshirt and Fries Tote Bag. We love it so much that here in the shop we set ourselves a challenge; To create a lunchtime masterpiece using only the medium of food. Drawing inspiration from other food-based artists, such as Jim of Jim's Pancakes fame and Justin's Bento boxs. Here are our attempts at 'Food Art.' STEPH: This piece is titled 'Lady Fingers.' Steph took inspiration from a night in with the Oaf shop girls, where we painted our nails and ate a jar of nutella (one of our favourite snack foods.) "I wanted to express my love of being a girl through the medium of toast." ZOE: Zoe has made a piece titled 'Are you a Lazy Oaf?' which was inspired by two of her favourite things - Lazy Oaf and American style pancakes. "I wanted to immortalise my favourite brand in food form, and pancakes seemed like the ideal food. The colours represent Lazy Oaf's colourful aesthetic." ELLIE: A favourite footwear choice at the Oaf studios, the tassel loafer. After being inspired by our Loafer Leg Tote Bag, I thought it was time for this kind of shoe to be brought to life through the medium of food. I used granary bread for its grainy texture, similar to that of warn leather. I feel the photograph does not do this creation justice (as we all found, taking photo's of food and making them look nice is near impossible, I don't know how Marks and Spencer do it!). Let us know what you think to our edible art, be nice!!! x
