Last week Lazy Oaf's Gemma, Jerry, Ellie, Shevone and Becki left their daytime jobs and headed to the Midlands to get involved at this winters Clothes Show Live and, once again, we had a jolly good old time. The show was on from 4th-9th December and this year there were more bargains going than ever before. Manage to get your hands on any?!
Like all Clothes Shows we like to make our stand look as fancy as possible and, with the help of glittered price labels, eyeball and unicorn bunting and a flying fox goodie bag sign, this year was no exception.
Our purses were definitely looked after this year in their very own home hand crafted by Rosy.
As this was the fifth Clothes Show we've attended, we have decided to let you in on five reasons we just can't get enough.
1. YOU
We mean it when we say you guys rule. Check out just some of the Oaf's we spotted this CSL.
Good Guy/Bad Guy Sweatshirt and
Wolf Moon T-shirt (accompanied by plenty of LO shopping bags)
The Christmas Jumper and Don't Be Sqaure Wear it Large T-shirt
Bow Repeat T-shirt and Teddy Tote and
Gemz Sweatshirt
Shake, Rattle and Roll Sweatshirt and Say Cheese T-shirt.
I Read Books T-shirt and Good Guy/Bad Guy Sweatshirt.
Looking good huh?
2. Playing paparazzi
There is nothing us Oaf girls like doing more than a good bit of celebrity spotting and CSL is the one place where we are always guaranteed to catch a few of our favourite famous faces. This year certainly didn't disappoint.
Here is Shevone wearing
Polka Face with her future husband better known as George Lamb; she treated him to one of our
Tuxedo Scarves to keep him warm through the bitter months.
This is me (Jerry) wearing
Rosy Bear whilst cuddling up to my new beau Jeff Brazier (I wish!) - anyone see him on the X Factor final 3 days later?
The real crowd stealer this year was Mr. Gok Wan. Yes everyone wanted a piece of the fashion prince, unfortunately we didn't have time to queue for 2.5 hours but we did manage to catch him at his show. I even got a small taste of fame when I exited the stock room toilets and was welcomed by a crowd of screaming girls with cameras expecting me to be Gok - the look of disappointment on everyone's faces when they realised it was just plain old me was priceless!
3. The Show
One of the biggest attractions to CSL is the live fashion show but after all these years of visiting we have never had the opportunity to see it. So this year when it was announced that all exhibitors could go and watch Tuesday's morning performance we quite literally jumped out of our seats and ran down. And it was definitely worth it!
This years show was hosted by our old fave Lamby boy and starred Gilly and Zoe from Hollyoaks.

One of the key attractions was the curly haired male model who looked particularly special in this Indian headdress and tasseled trouser combo. We also ALL fell in love with these amazing harlequin tights - if anyone anywhere knows where we can get a pair please share the love - there might even be a free prize in it for you.
4. TEAM OAF
There is nothing like a good bit of team spirit and that is definitely something we had heaps of this year.
How could you not want to buy a nautical number from Ellie?
Burgers R
Us!
5. Dinner time
Being on your feet for 9.5 hours a day can be rather tiring, particularly when you are used to sitting at a computer desk 95% of the time. So to keep the momentum up we always like to make sure we have lots of tasty snacks to look forward to.
Fortunately for us, this years show was sponsored by Kit Kat Senses and we certainly had our fair share. In fact we more or less overdosed on them resulting in some unexpected post-Clothes Show withdrawal symptoms (send me a box for Xmas pleasssee).
After eating lots of delicious meals cooked to perfection each night, on the last day we gave Gemma's hands a break and paid a visit to the local pub for some top grub. When Shevone and I spotted the Giant Profiterole on the menu we had to order one and it was quite possibly the best 15 seconds of our lives.
So yes there are five reasons we dig Birmingham's Clothes Show Live. Other highlights included going wild on two for £20 vintage dresses, discovering the geniusness that is I Heart Huckabees and watching new boy band Vice perform their latest single Bounce live at the show.
May we say a BIG thank you to all who came along and please see all the other photos on our
Facebook fan page.
