Who wants to eat fruit and veg when you can try your creative hand at turning our healthiest food group into a celebrity?! Well that's the challenge we set the attendees at our Twist of Fete last week in our competition 'Celebtables'. Yes many of our shoppers turned up armed with customised fruit and veg with wigs, googly eyes and penned on faces. Some of our funniest entries included four different versions of Amy Winehouse constructed from cabbages, onions and parsnips. A big well done to all who entered but now we are ready to announce the final three.
The winning prize selected by the Lazy Oaf team goes to Ian Bowles for his hilarious and precisely drawn Auber-Gene Simmons (the Pun was just too good).
Second prize is rewarded to Julie Johnson for Brussel Brand perfectly carved from a potato and parsnip teamed with his very own miniature cigarette.
Lyndsay Taggart is awarded third prize for her impressive suited and booted Paul Daniels parsnip teamed with a slender, sequin clad Debbie Magee shaped from a celery stick..yum.
One of the biggest thrills of our fete night was getting inked up in our very own tattoo parlour. Each pain-free design was selected from our Oaf catalogue and guests left us decorated with all sorts of oafish imagery from bows to bananas and in some cases beards and moustaches.
