Lazy Oaf Hit London Fashion Week
Over the past three days we've escaped our desks and headed over to Central London to check out what's hot at this seasons London Fashion Week. With the help of partner in crime Laura of fabiennedesfleurs.blogspot.com, we've been style spotting, show watching and celeb snapping, with a bit of after partying thrown in. Here are some of our highlights. TANK TOP-RANKING TONGUE TIED & TWISTED The biggest highlight of our time at LFW had to be Fred Butler's AW12 presentation at Somerset House on Monday. We were luckier enough to sit front row where we got an eyeful of her latest collection inspired by a quilted ski jacket and the colours of Sushi. This season Fred has teamed up with knitwear label EDE England to design a range of hand knitted jumpers, knickers and mittens. We can't even begin to tell you how in love we are with these. Key accessory pieces from the collection include this delicious plaited head piece and matching belt. Sticking to her signature rainbow colour scheme, Fred has designed a range of studded accessories, most notably this head band fit for an empress. For the second season, Fred has collaborated with friend of the oafs and mega talented maker Rosy Nicholas who designed a collection of incredible french knit shoes. Singer Charli XCX performed a bespoke track throughout the presentation. Forever the shoe stalker, I couldn't keep my eyes off Charli's platform black boots. The photo doesn't do them justice believe me. In tune with the colour palette, Fred treated her guests with a tray of Sushi cupcakes made by Pomp De Franc. Mixing cream, coconut and jelly sweets, these cakes were irresistible and consequently consumed within 10 minutes after the show. The FROW There is no denying that one of the most exciting things about London Fashion Week is checking out who is on the front row and that is exactly what we were doing at the Vivienne Westwood Show. Sadie Frost certainly created a spectacle attending with her younger daughter. We were surprised to find top chef Heston Blumenthal checking out the show near blonde bombshell singer Rita Ora. Our photographs of the show itself don't do the collection justice but we did manage to capture Dame Vivienne Westwood clutching a stunning bouquet of red roses. This model still worked the cameras after the show letting us get a closer look at her Westwood body ink. PAPA, PAPARAZZI The trend for spotting famous faces continued; above we caught Alexa Chung leaving the Marios Schwab show on Sunday. Nicola Roberts wore a billowing blouse dress to the Topshop Unique show. Here we snapped Saturday's singer and Lazy Oaf fan Mollie King heading into see Fashion East. YOU GOT STYLE Any clothes lover will agree that one of the best things about fashion week is checking out what everyone is wearing. This lady above definitely caught our eye in her neon pink shaggy coat and fur shoes at Christopher Kane. We were totally won over by these leopard print panel platform trainers. We think they might be from Office and we think we might need a pair. In keeping with the fluro trend was this mans luminous orange PVC mack, ideal for wearing in the wetter weather that hit the show on Saturday (good thing we packed our waterproofs). It was lovely to bump into previous Lazy Oaf model and all round stylish gal Naomi Shimada who caught our eye in all-white Dr. Martens. This lady really had an eye for colour, we were particularly taken by her tartan trousers. I bought a bit of oaf to the week in my brand new Flower Boobs T-shirt worn under a big, and very necessary, fur collared coat.
